WPS Members-Changes in Coverage for Dependent Children

Good Afternoon!

Attached is a letter and FAQ sheet from WPS regarding the changes of coverage regarding dependent children. A few months ago, I sent out a communication to you regarding coverage of dependent children to age 27 due to a new state mandate. I had indicated the coverage would be effective August 1, 2010; Madison College's renewal date, for eligible dependents.

As more information is relayed to the public regarding the details of health care reform, these issues continue to evolve. Since my communication to you in January, the federal government has passed extended coverage to dependents to the age of 26, regardless of marital status or premium contribution.

Please read the attached information carefully. You are now able to cover your adult child effective June 1, 2010, instead of waiting until August 1, 2010 as I had stated in January.

In addition, Tim Ottosen from WPS will be here on Tuesday, May 18 in the HR Department, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. to answer your questions.
